Howard Wong - baritone

Award winning baritone, Howard Wong began vocal studies under Benjamin Luxon and Sheila Amit whilst studying for his Bachelor and Master degrees in Music at University. He was then awarded a Scholarship to continue Postgraduate studies under Theresa Goble at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he graduated with Distinction.

He was the winner of the prestigious Association of English Singers and Speakers Competition in 2002 which has helped establish him as a popular recitalist of the  English Art Song genre.  Since then, his work in opera, oratorio and recitals has taken him to The Royal Albert Hall, The Royal Opera House, Snape Maltings, Cadogan Hall, The Wigmore Hall, St. John's, Smith Square, St. Martin-in-the-Fields and other music centres throughout the UK, Sweden, Italy, Belgium and the Far East.  In 2006, he made his first recording of Finzi songs for the Belgian company, De Rode Pomp.

Aside from his own singing, Howard has conducted a number of choirs and orchestras. He has worked as Chorusmaster for London's celebrated Chelsea Opera Group and is currently the Principal Conductor of the City of Canterbury Sinfonia.
