Honorary Patrons:  Professor Robert Lethbridge, Benjamin Luxon CBE,  Iain Burnside

Welcome

A word from our Honorary Patrons:

"I'm so delighted you've chosen to focus on Ralph Vaughan Williams whose music for me epitomizes a pastoral and gentle England that was very real and not just the yearning of nostalgia. Vaughan Williams's England is no longer easy to find but extremely enriching for young and old alike."

--Benjamin Luxon CBE

The Cornish baritone, Benjamin Luxon has enjoyed a distinguished career in all facets of the vocal arts, appearing in all major opera houses and concert halls throughout the world.  Due to his love for English music and English poetry, he has actively promoted the works of English composers during the whole of his career.

"With its formidable array of expert performers and speakers this festival gives an ideal opportunity to get under the skin of this great and often undervalued composer. The combination of off-the-beaten-track works with old favourites looks irresistible."

--Iain Burnside

Iain Burnside is one of Britain's most popular musical personalities, best known for his commitment to the song repertoire as recital partner to many leading song singers of the generation.  He is also an award-winning broadcaster on both television and radio.  Currently, he can be heard every Sunday on BBC Radio 3 in his very own programme.
